Safeguarding is our priority
At Petteril Bank Community School, safeguarding is treated as being of the highest importance. All visitors to school require DBS checks and are signed in and out of school by a member of staff. All staff members take regular refreshers in safeguarding. Our school designated safeguarding lead is Mrs Lucy Harris. The deputy safeguarding leaders are Mr Joseph Askew and Mrs Sarah Robson. Our family liaison worker is Mrs Yvonne Harland.
Safeguarding and Child Protection
All children are entitled to a full-time education, regardless of their circumstances. Unfortunately, children missing education (CME) risk underachieving, being victims of abuse, and not being in education, employment or training (NEET) in later life.
The LA has a legal duty to identify when there are CME and help them back into education. This policy highlights what our school will do to help the LA with its duty.
Petteril Bank Community School strives to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils at the school. In order to effectively achieve this, staff members at the school must safeguard and protect children against CSE.
This policy outlines the school’s procedures for preventing, managing and reporting cases of CSE.
Petteril Bank Community School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare, both physical and emotional, of every pupil both inside and outside of the school premises. We implement a whole-school preventative approach to managing safeguarding concerns, ensuring that the wellbeing of pupils is at the forefront of all action taken.
